I've been printing my own checks for a decade. In all those years I've only had (1) check returned. That was before every bank and store started using optical readers instead of magnetic ink readers. I have read multiple blogs, on line sites, retailers, etc... harping that you MUST or SHOULD buy magnetic toner/ink. I can't speak for everyone but I can assure you in the many years of printing my own checks I've only had that one problem. I've used ink jet printers but now prefer a standard laser printer. I use Versa Check software that is over 8 years old. I only use it to line up my information in order to print it out. Once you set up your template it keeps track of what check you should print next. The only problem is that you MUST put this check paper in straight and in the correct configuration. TEST it and make sure the banking codes and symbols on the bottom line up with the marks on the check. It doesn't have to be PERFECT but it should be aligned pretty close to the bottom and all numbers should be as straight as possible. I've had no problems if they are off a bit and SLIGHTLY angled. I move alot and this is why I started printing my own checks. I think it looks horrible when you cross out an old address and fill it in with the current one. It also may delay a check if your writing is bad. At first I was hesitant to print my own checks.. but that was a decade ago when it was a new concept to most. Even though many of us do 99% of our banking on-line; I do write important checks for the paper trail...

I can confirm that these blanks work with Checksoft software. Had to make a very minor adjustment in the check designer. Moved "Pay To" and "Memo" about an 1/8" to the right, and they printed perfect.

confusing to use. was able to print checks with my info and my bank info on it after verifying my checking account with versacheck. it keeps telling me i need premium to have it print out a check with all the payee info and dollar amount on it. also it did not line up with quicken. i will be trying to tweak it to get it to work with quicken. the premium service is more than i want to spend and i already have software to manage my finances. i just want to be able to print checks.

Been using Quicken since the early 90's, almost when it first came out. Got a version of Versa Check in the late 90s and have been using it to write checks from quicken ever since. Excellent quality refills. So much nicer than writing ones by hand.

Hi have used VersaCheck for years. I finally ran out of checks and had to order this box. It is pretty handy to be able to print the few checks I need to write every month because I enter the information in QuickBooks and hit print to mail the checks. I do not have to worry about having to enter the information later which became a drag because I tended to forget and had to set aside a good 2 or 3 hours to enter all the transaction from my check book. I also print a few blank checks to carry around in case I need them. This is pretty handy.

Micro-Perforation lines were really bad. Had to fold several times to separate the checks so they would not tear. Also the paper was 20 lb not 24 lb stock like real checks.

Use these to print my own checks on both a laser and inkjet printer. My checks look good using these blank checks. While many banks now use imaging, some still use magnetic scanners to read the code at the bottom of checks, so you would need MICR ink/toner to print checks that all financial institutions can read/accept.
